luckily I love everything I've heard by pole so far! so im in :W:

and @kochari, I would say maurizio/main street (round one - round five) are less experimental/more dancefloor based than basic channel soo i'd probably choose this tune to convert you:

Flying Lotus. Hell I'd say he's my fav producer in general. Literally everything he does is pure gold (except his mastering, Loudness Wared up the ass, but it does fit the aesthetic.)

Eh, true but it's still not bad. Frankly I like that he's trying new shit instead of just stagnating like many people seem to do at this sorta point.

everyone knows reset was the best

also cosomogramma was just a mess of him doing his "ooh look at my spacey sounding beats with lots of sidechaining"

1983 was waaay better than it.

Dance Of The Pseudo Nymph is the track I actually like a lot on that album. Bass line is sick.

cosmogramma is perfect

he's on here, but enough about that/

'Until the quiet comes' is the masterpiece, Cosmo is a more sensible direction compared to LA,
Considering his shoes to fill and the legacy he has to represent in the musical spectrum,
Cosmo is very listenable, I feel like I could play it for a family member, he works hard to make sure his sound is unique and well rounded,
But by the end of a dozen listens and recapping the whole record I would say the Thom York collab is my favorite.
This is without hearing Cosmo for about a year+, I wouldn't trust my opinion if I were you/

LA though! such a rarity that a record comes around and simply smoking a bowl felt like channeling an unknown spirit.
I'm willing to go as far as saying LA and Until The Quiet Comes are two of my favorite albums to come out of LA/
It's fly lo all his records are unmistakably Flying Lotus, I was glad to hear a thumping clubby jazz record for a change
UTQC is amazing and The Wire interview is a must read for any flylo fan/

I tried to listen to Cosmogramma and LA a couple years back and couldn't get through them. I mean I didn't merely dislike Flying Lotus' music, I actively loathed it. I thought his music arrhythmic, grating, hackwork. I don't dislike him nearly as much and actually quite like his videos especially for Until the Quiet Comes, But you'll be hard pressed to get me to seriously listen to his music again anytime soon.

Have to agree with this. Much prefer FlyLo when he reels it in a little bit..the freeform stuff feels slightly showy/forced to me. Really liked the new Thundercat album though. They're close to finding a perfect middleground.

Myself, been feeling Talabot, Conforce, and Rune Lindbaek quite a bit lately. Was pretty knocked out by the new Elaquent album as well.
hey, you wouldn't hire a clown to fix a leak in the john..so why do you let these hooligans tear down the biz?
