It had that anyway with audio to score but yeah i think the flex pitch does do audio to midi.

Now i've had a few days on it i can honestly say it crashes a lot so many many bug fixes i think are on the way.
Biggest one seems to be when using the flex pitch on drums, every time i went to the sample edit window it crashed. Also it is randomly changing my input setting on busses which is a bit of a bitch.
In general it loads up quick and also the autosave function is a nice function for them moments of crashing but in the end this is logic and it always has bugs so time will tell how quickly they address all issues.

i can't believe how BIG all the fonts, icons, etc are....i can't even use this on my 13in MP the way it is, the transport bar dosn't even fit on the screen,........its fucking terrible

i feel claustrophobic in a kid's toy store working on that UI...........the pics online are misleading

Any1 else having a problem with the lack of headroom?

On logic 9 i'd normally have all my individual drum tracks at about -4 or -5 and have no problem with clipping! With the Drum bus still having a couple (2-3 Dbs) headroom left!

On first few projects on Logic x i'm having to really turn the individual tracks down! For example on my current project i have all my individual drum tracks on -10 and the drum bus is still clipping! Yet its actually very quiet!

All the samples i'm using in these examples are from the same sample bank so difference in volumes is minimal! Whereas the difference between X and pro 9 is huge! This problem is actually making Logic x unusable

Any1 else experiencing this?

Why don't you open a logic 9 project in logic x and see if the meters read differently?

after using logic x for a bit do you guys think its worth the upgrade? from the looks of it everything seems to be a welcome addition. i do like the new interface, however some of the buttons and fonts seem so unnecessarily big and un logicesque. but overall is the GUI better? is there more room to work and is it more logically laid out? if so i can get over the minor flaw of certain things being huge.

I think the upgrade is worth it.It is simply laid out and probably a little bit better to use.I'm still getting used to the new key commands and the new layout but it hasn't slowed my workflow down much.I quite like the bigger fonts as i'm a blind motherfucker these days and pro 9 could be a bit on the small size.I can understand peoples gripes if they are using the 13 inch mb pro as on the 15 inch everything does seem a hell of a lot larger.
Since the 10.0.1 update i haven't had any crashes so far but haven't really pushed my projects yet.The annoying bug of doing things like cutting audio on the fly has also gone which was doing my head in.
Bit gutted with the no 32 bit support as the v8 waves plugs i have don't work.Apparently there is a workaround but again you will need to spend money so upgrading is an option but for £200 quid fuck that.A lot of noise at the moment about no 32bit support so you never know apple may look at it but i very much doubt it.
In general i think its worth upgrading but keep 9 on your system just incase you son't get on with it.

thanks lloyd and yeah i have no problem with all 64 bit. all my plugs are 64 bit. i purposely only have bought 64 bit plugs because i knew apple would do this.

and ehbrums idk man logic clicks with me big time. i still use reason. i actually started a glitch hop beat today just in reason because i find malstrom and subtraktor the easiest and most effective synths to use. i love logic though. besides a few things i like it better than reason by a long shot. its so much more powerful in certain areas and so much quicker in areas as well. reason does have its advantages but i dont think ill ever use reason full time.

not imo. its not much more than 6.5 imo 6 should have had everything 7 has. reason is still light years behind in many ways but also light years ahead due to the nature of the program and the endless racks etc. but like i said before i cant imagine going back to reason for everything. i still love the program but i love logic. its just much faster and has so many more important features to me.

I'm definitely enjoying the new features in Logic but it's rather buggy, and some key elements of various workflows are not the same as 9... quite a few useful things have been taken out. Get on logicprohelp.com, there's loads of good topics floating about discussing such things.

i was under the impression nothing was removed from logic 9. all the features are still there. apparently some commands are changed and stuff but everything is still there so maybe give it some more time to learn and get used to all of the changes?

Missing feature thread from logic pro help.May be of use here if people want to skim. For me all the functionality is still there bar the 32 bit plugin support.I really really like the stack tracks as folders could be a bit of a pain to use and midi plugs are just brilliant.Haven't used the smart controls as of yet but will soon.

13'' MBP combined with that insane increase in font size and funky GUI changes really turns me off. A little disappointed that track stacks doesn't put tracks into a bus, rather just a group with a volume fader. I've gotten so used to the key commands and shortcuts I've made in Logic 9 that switching for a few minor workflow upgrades doesn't seem worth the hassle. Also I like sylenth too much :(

Track stacks does output all the tracks to a bus if you use summing stack doesn't it?

From what I saw it puts them in a group, but you can't put effects or anything on it like a normal bus. It's just a group with a master volume fader. Then again I was just watching a youtube video where someone was going over the features, so I've got no first hand experience
