Native Instruments Installed on 2 PC
The end user license agreement (EULA) of Native Instruments' products allows the simultaneous installation on two computers (three computers for all versions of KORE and KOMPLETE), as long as only one installation is used at any given time. It is not necessary to "deactivate" an existing installation to activate the product on a further machine, but due to the license agreement it is required to uninstall the product from the previously used computer.
Apparently it is not necessary to uninstall the previous version on the other machine, you just can't use them at the same time.
This is where it confuses me.
How do NI know if I am using them at the same time?
If I've activated my software via activation center, I don't connect to the net again unless looking for updates or activating other products.
How would NI know if I am using the software at the same time on 2 systems?
I won't be using the software at the same time on both systems but should I feel the need to have a jam session with a mate or 2 and we'd want to possibly use my laptop at the same time as my pc, my question stands.
How would NI know if this was happening or not.
How is there a limitation of 2-3 systems?

Re: Native Instruments Installed on 2 PC
be the same as user licenses for cad programes wouldnt it?
when you're connected to the net it'll check make sure that same ID isnt being used on another computer
& being online shouldnt be an issue anyway if you've customized your firewall to suit.

Sweet
I was just wondering how NI were planning on preventing my 2 offline pcs from using the same software.
It's different with Cad software Nevalo.
You have to activate the software and once activated, there is no sharing allowed.
It voids the EULA.
But more importantly, the software can only be installed again with a new activation code that you receive from the software manufacturer.

You should be able to run them in 3 machines at a time. I've had maschine running on my desktop and laptop at the same time with no problems.

Re: Native Instruments Installed on 2 PC
Did you run both installs through Activation center to get them activated?Brothulhu wrote:http://i.imgur.com/cILTEf4.jpg Doesn't seem to be anything stopping me
I just don't understand how NI can police this EULA.
What is stopping me from giving all of my friend's my serial key to use?

Were both computers online at the same time for activation?

Re: Native Instruments Installed on 2 PC
I'm actually just amazed at the flexibility of the license.
Random I suppose.
Would that not lend itself to some form of piracy?
If not just a couple copies of NI products being distributed with serial keys attached?

Re: Native Instruments Installed on 2 PC
I didn't know you could do this, I'm very happy now. i was thinking of torrenting it for my laptop, or selling a kidney to buy another licence. I have had it for like 3/4 years just on one PC...
