bass music in Japan

Post by FAARE FACED » Sun Jul 28, 2013 11:31 pm

Hey everyone,

I'm going to Japan tomorrow for 2 weeks and I thought that I'd be nice to give a shot at the japanese night life.
However, I'm not sure I can handle K-pop and stuff like that ( ) so I'm looking for places (in Tokyo preferably) where bass music is played (doesnt HAVE to be dubstep, I would dig some neuro dnb too).

Does someone know any good places ?
Thanks

There is a bit of a footwork thing going on if you're into that. DJ Fulltono, DJ AFlow, Guchon, Uncle Texx - Bootytune is the label you wanna look out for.

No, kpop is HUGE in Japan.

There's a lot more in Tokyo than other places but Osaka has two regular dnb nights on weekends, I'll have a look later. Goth-trad does Back To Chill in Tokyo as well. There's some good clubbing sites but they're written in Japanese, pretty intuitive to use though since they have a calendar and the genres are written in English. I'll put links up later but just search on Google as well or something

EDIT:

I got told by a DJ yesterday that, in Osaka anyway, there's no big dance music events in the week because the police are cracking down on clubs by enforcing the 'no drinking and dancing' law so they can't make money (it's a real law and it sucks right now). Shouldn't be much of an issue in Tokyo but it's a serious thing in Osaka. Not that you can't find stuff though, I definitely recommend Sam & Dave 2 in Shinsaibashi on a Tuesday night.

Don't expect anyone to speak English, either.

No drinking and dancing after 12. Old law from the 50s, suddenly started being used last year for some reason.
