Do I need to be connected to the internet if I send license

I bought Autotune a while ago, finally got around to buying an iLok (FUCK THAT SHIT, I looked so hard to try and find an... alternative... after I learned that my product required that I pay an extra 50 dollars to some shit company)

And I'm wondering, if I send the license to my computer instead of to my iLok, does that mean that I

1) Don't need to have the ilok in to use autotune every time, and

2) Need to be connected to the internet in order to use the autotune?

First you need to go the iLok website, setup an account and download their "cloud" program.

I hate iLok. But use the plug ins that made me turn over to the darkside in 75% of my music both during sound design and mixing. So it's a give and take. Plus I got the iLok free with my purchase of the software (or discounted, forget which). So it wasn't all bad. And I got the much sexier and newer iLok 2.
