Anyone see it yet? Just saw it today and really enjoyed it.
I had the biggest smile on my face when I heard Burial - Loner and Kryptic Minds - Six degrees playing in the background
Best part was that I watched it with the friend that bought me Untrue on vinyl for my birthday.

Yeah, have you watched the movie yet? A few scene's before the KM tune is played, you hear Loner. It took me like 10 seconds to recognize it, but it sounded maybe like they EQ'd the track or something cause I don't remember hearing the drums, just the pads and the main arp synth.

I really wanted this movie to be good, but judging by the reviews I will probably just wait till it's on cable.
The reviews make it out to be special effects porn with a backdrop of class disparity. The main issue isn't developed at all and some of the main characters aren't developed either. Haven't read anything about tone/atmosphere (which are the most important aspects of any movie imo) but judging by clips it's mostly an action flick.
Looks like 2013 is another year with no good sci-fi.

Its worth a watch, its no citizen kane but its not Promethues levels of retardation either...
A good middle ground, I cant see why if you liked District 9, you wouldnt like this.
Sure knows how to blow people up thats for sure.
Oh the healing pod thing gets used a few times, its pretty laughable when you think about it but they do atleast one thing I didnt expect with it.

It's not that bad but disappointing.
It was worth watching because of Burial!

What day is today?

i tell you what would be a good film, if they got rid of the whole fighting explosion bullshit and just showed the day to day life of a guy in the shit place trying to get into elysium and then the life of a guy who actually lived there
only the guy living up in elysium is really fed up of it and wants to go down as it is a really sterile soulless place with no discernible cultural progression or anything, while down below everyone is striving to get to this paradise but actually their lives are much more interesting, underground music scenes and graffiti crews etc.
idk would have made it much more enjoyable- the set up premise was good but it just devolved into a standard action blowy up thing
