Pointless posting this on a production board IMO.

idk about these, but sometimes i love to turn my headphones all the way up, and play something like 5hz sine wave, and feel the headphones shaking on my head

The samples themselves aren't pointless, I imagine they are very useful to car audio heads/etc

But posting them on a forum where 99.9% of the users already know how to produce a sine of any frequency, is pretty darn pointless

Actually it can be good for them, speakers have lots of moving parts and using them more will keep them "fresh" in a sense, obviously this will reduce the life of them but not by alot

That's just what I've heard anyway, never actually done any research on it, but I imagine that's the same reason why you need to break speakers in when you get them

Well, not turning the headphones all the way up, but turning the volume slider next to the clock on my pc all the way up. My headphones are connected directly to the sound card.
I just can't imagine how you can break your headphones by playing a sound, I mean, you can break the headphones if you use an amplifier or something but no no I just use a soundcard and that's all.

192kbps mp3 samples of sine waves. Most pointless thing ever.haha

I did once play frequencies too high to hear on my monitors to see if they could do it by seeing how much it freaked cats out.

haha I don't have hard knowledge in this area either  but  when I play certain frequencies, especially the low ones when I turn them up since they roll off(maybe it rolls off for a reason other than it just can't do it, maybe to protect the speakers?) I'll hear other stuff thats not supposed to be there like buzzing or some other noises coming from the speaker or inside the enclosure itself.
I've tried to look up information on this, but I guess I'm not using the right keywords or topics to search with.

suprisingly enough, I've never intentionally pestered my cats like that, but now I want to, but I'm living at school now lol
