Kick/Bass Side-chain with Multi-band Compressor
The only real frequencies that the kick and bass are fighting for in a track is below 100hz (the weight/punch), and around 200-300hz (the warmth). So i was wondering if anyone has tried using a multi-band compressor to side-chain the kick and the bass. This way the attack transient of the bass isn't lost when the compressor kicks in. This is certainly something i am going to try.
