If its any consolation, that's extremely common.

Not sure what they're getting at with the 3 months thing though, people pass their references all the time who've never rented before at all..
I'll certainly accept that as consolation... feels a bit embarrassing though!!

It's my job contract that I only get 3 months of at a time... so despite me and my boss knowing I'll still be at the same desk I was at 2 years ago in 12 months time, I can't prove I'll be there after November at the moment... should've just got a permie. :u:

The problem from the agents and landlords side is that its an extremely difficult and lengthy process to evict someone that can't/won't pay their rent half way through a contract, and even longer to actually start legal proceedings to recover the lost rent once they're out. That's why so many people who earn decent money still need a guarantor

The whole referencing systems got a whole lot stricter since 2008..

Yeah, I guess it makes sense... I just kind of hoped they might've noticed that I've been paying *more* rent than I will be here for the last 7 years and haven't missed a single payment.

My Dad had better fucking pass. :corncry:

As long as he's a homeowner and has no outstanding CCJs you should be fine, I never see many guarantors fail

Yeah, homeowner with pretty immaculate credit - my Dad's a boring sod. He's retired though - would that make a difference?

I'm stressing about everything too much as usual, I'm sure... I hope... :corncry:

When me and my girlfriend moved in we put both our names on the rent and she needed a guarantor, pretty sure her parents just signed a bit of paper without a credit check. I'm not entirely sure though

Back of my mouth along my lower jaw right in the corner has been really sore and quite painful for a few days. Wisdom tooth maybe, I've never had wisdom teeth problems before though so I'm not sure.

Closest dentist I'm registered at is ~200 miles away
