Tip 1: First release songs for free, until you get some fame. Don't start off with paid tunes and shit. Because first, they're not going to sell, and peoples LOVE free stuff.

Imo if stuff's free blogs/youtube/promo people are more incentivised to share it since they don't have to technically worry about sharing the track, although you obviously do lose a little bit of control over the spread of your work... but that's how viral marketing can work.
