How do i get my tracks super loud like zomboy and skrillex.
I have been Working on my Craft for three years now. Every time i master a track with izotope ozone 4 i never get it super loud. But it seems that when i get it to the loudness i want i always get this popping noise where the sub bass is or anything that is sub bass. i really want to perfect my craft!!!!! here is an example of what i am talking about!!!! https://soundcloud.com/ron-earl-harrell ... ix/s-DKfLg like the tune is not loud like zomboy and skrillex and stuff. but you can also hear the popping or distorted noise in the sub bass area. Even when my when my effect kick hits you can hear distortion. please help me out!! i have got to fix this problem!!!

Did you read the manual?

Focus on getting the mix right, the link below gives some basics on getting a loud master once the mix is sorted:-

Clipping in small amounts? Yeah right.outbound wrote:Focus on getting the mix right, the link below gives some basics on getting a loud master once the mix is sorted:-

I wouldn't cross -0.3dB since that will clip on some devices.
MULTIBAND COMPRESSION!

Subtle saturation is better than bad compression/limiting imo.Icetickle wrote: Clipping in small amounts? Yeah right.

Who fucking wrote that??? I can see what they're getting at but it's awfully worded.low ratio compression. This applies gain reduction to the very low levels as well as the peaks
Re: How do i get my tracks super loud like zomboy and skrill
ever heared of the loudness war?
the music industries try to master their tracks louder and louder because a hughe bandwidh of human think the louder the better.... but that is wrong because lots of signal is getting lost if you overdrive your music. keep it quite. if you want your music to be loud turn up the volume knop

Most of these posts if not all of them are valid points to consider. Just to reinforce some of these techniques it is very important that you cut high frequencies on you subs, and cut other necessary frequencies on all other synths so all your sounds fit in your mix. I find that keeping my rms at -6 db and making sure it doesn't pass -6 db helps in making my master clean when sound boosting. I also do agree that louder isn't better. Yet, in the case of trying to achieve the same level of volume that skrillex has, boosting, saturating, and even in some cases squashing is necessary when in mastering phase.

Remember that when you saturate your sub, the fundamental sub frequency gets quieter and so your sub won't be as punchy as it was.

shoot for -3 RMS. two years ago -5 was loud.

Re: How do i get my tracks super loud like zomboy and skrill
Ya gots ta do limiting in ya mix. Cutting the harsh peaks off punchy drum samples is a good place to start, after that start applying it to everything else. Normal compression but to get really loud you gotta cut of them nasty peaks, and everywhere. You'll then find you don't have to push the limiter too hard in the master to get it loud, or you can go that extra mile and slam the limiter anyway to get it to zomboy/madeon loudness.

Re: How do i get my tracks super loud like zomboy and skrill
I just learned something interesting about Maximus. When you're in the low tab you raise you're pre real high and then squash it so that all the lows are even. Adjust the highs and mids and you get a pretty decent sound. There are some phasing issues that happen when you do this so you'll probably have to adjust the eq of your mix. I'm probably not explaining this right I'm fucking tired as hell. Also I don't know if that was helpful to you because I don't remember what DAW you're using. Anyway just wanted to share that. That mastering style is definitely not for rock, house, or any other genre that puts emphasis on dynamics though. It's just fucking loud the whole time.

Keep the lows as mono and you won't have phasing issues. Use saturation and heavy limiting on your lows if you want a really loud sound.
