The Art of the EQ :: Which EQ Bands do What?

Post by JoshuaCasper » Tue Aug 27, 2013 5:29 pm

http://www.joshuacasper.com/tutorials/t ... of-the-eq/

Just put this little cheat sheet together, and people are really loving it. So, I figured I would share it with this community too.

On the post I outline what each frequency band contains and what happens when you add, take away, cut, or otherwise manipulate the different bands.

Come check it out.

Also, there is a link to 15 professionally set Ableton EQ 8 presets

On top of that some links to EQ for Bass and Vocals specifically too!!

Interesting. Haven't come across anything that put it in this perspective.

This is amazing, thanks so much. I've just started to learn to mix 'real' instruments properly (only used synthesizers before), so this is gold.

Nice one bruva! EQ is definitely something I need to work on! This will help massively, it's nice to see the different frequencies broken down like this.

Had a quick look at some of the other shit on your website, looks good mate. Will defninitely have to check it all out properly a bit later on!

Much appreciated!

I knew this was going to be about Ableton :)

Anyway, big up for helping people see what's actually important. Too many people just crack Live and start stacking
plugins on skrill bass pre-sets.. no wonder after a few years no one gets actual clear punchy mixes done.
