Buy cdjs and a mixer instead and then at least you can play in a club. You will get laughed at if you use a controller in a club and there probably wont even be room to plug one in. If your serious about djing you'll have to get cdjs or turntables at some point anyway. There's no point in wasting money on a controller before hand.

Yeah as said above you may be better off with CDJ's for club use.

I bought a traktor S4 and although I love it, it's impractical for club use, I could never find space for it and it was a pain carrying it around. (I've also heard of some clubs/promotors who are against booking acts who use them so may be worth considering)

I now have an audio 6 scratch setup for playing out which I use with club CDJ's (I still use my S4 at home though!)

If you are still set on a controller, why not try to get down to a music store to try them out? the software can be pretty same'y but the feel of them and the quality is kind of subjective so try to get your hands on one!
