Re: Recommended 2013 Albums
Not accusing you of doing that. Loads of cassette labels that offer it blatantly do it for that reason though
Re: Recommended 2013 Albums
Nah, I know you're not accusing me of it, it's just probably not because of "hipsters" though
. I love stuff coming with downloads, can't always bump the physical copy, and it's just good to have a back up.
I'd only rip it myself anyway, so good of the label to give digital downloads.

Re: Recommended 2013 Albums
I guess there's stuff I own on tape that I wouldn't want a download of though honestly (which sounds a bit weird).
I can only really see it being good in case the tape is eaten by a shitty tape machine

My bad didn't know that wub thx! Good of them!
I'm not accusing anybody tbf just mentioning it because I've seen it once or twice before and I know most of them aren't elitist stnuc, just didn't know there was so much to it. Used to have cassettes (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oydnAFUPzhA)when I was very young and don't know much about it in general but thx for clearing it up guys
Don't laugh with Samson & Gert though, was the best kids show ever on tv with the smurfs as intersection, good old days
when you actually learned something!

And that's why I love it. Got tapes that I know I'm probably never gonna have a chance to own again. Didn't buy them just because they were on tape, bought them for the music, if the tape goes tits up, I still wanna listen.wolf89 wrote:I guess there's stuff I own on tape that I wouldn't want a download of though honestly (which sounds a bit weird).

Re: Recommended 2013 Albums
Ok in that sense I can see it being a good idea. There's still a lot of trendy wank on tape where I bet the tape sits on someone shelf looking cool though. haha
For me I think tape releases gotta be something that is aesthetically compatible with the loss of quality. See so much super clean nice sounding electronica-ish stuff on tape that I don't see working

Re: Recommended 2013 Albums
Gorgon Grime was a cassette only release, but that style of music and the sound it was trying to convey is suited to the medium IMO.
Re: Recommended 2013 Albums
Yeah for sure that's obviously a tape only release

Attila - About That Life
Juicy J - Stay Trippy
Probably some others but I can't think right now. These two are the standouts for me this year for sure.
