I think even the standards of brostep have fallen lol, it's almost not fun finding the shitest thing you can find anymore. Guys like Krewella are rakin it in on tunes that are so fucking bad it's not even funny. The relentless robo-step from Datsik etc was a bit much, but some of those tunes are good IMO, if not for too long a time. The current beatport dubstep top 10 will give your ears a terminal ilness.

idk about house, but deff trap and lazer bass scenes are hugely popular with the crowd that was loosing it to brostep a few years ago. who would have thought I would end up longing for the golden age of brostep.
edit: actually, now that I think of it your right on the house point. When I think of house, the funky groovy stuff comes to mind, not the horrid electo house garbage that they like ie Aoki

as a, 18 year old freshman in uni i can attest, the brostep scene is alive and kicking
I didn't even know that aggressive dubstep that was mixed with other genres such as metal was known as Brostep until 3 hours ago. It seems to me that a lot of people that appreciate the origins of 2 step garage, trash, dubstep, ect... do not care much for Brostep. Is Brostep a form of progression in an ever evolving electronic world? Or is it a disease that is infecting EDM? What do you think?
Seems to me that people in the bro club are more partial to bro step then against it. What does the other side of the spectrom really have to say about Brostep?
Rofl the people at brostep club aren't "the other side of the spectrum", they're sarcastic and usually uncover the worst of brostep or post some more acceptable stuff.

San Diego is the shit dude! I lived there for many years. The biggest scene when I was living there was metal. Just whent down there last Friday and found that the scene had died pretty much. I was the front man for Scar'd Sanity, pretty well known local band in San Diego. It kind of sucks that the scene deminished the way it did. But you're right. Not a big scene for EDM. At least to my knowledge.
I'm a fan of modern dubstep. I know a lot of people are going to be all pissed off and start chatting shit at me for that comment but I can't help it. I'm a metal head at heart so naturally I love the aggressive feel of modern American dubstep. I absolutely love the science behind sound design in electronic music, which is something you just don't get with metal. So staying true to my roots while incorporating my love for sound design is definitely appealing to me. It's not a thing of, oh I want to sound like Skrillex, oh I want to sound like every other producer that is making a shit load of cash so I can in return make a shit load of cash. It's about keeping it real with yourself no matter if it makes people's ears bleed. Metal heads are partial to modern dubstep, or as a lot of you call Brostep because it's heavy as hell, triplets included, and has a wider range of fans. The smaller scale of fans in the metal world is the reason why a lot of metal musicians give up because they simply can't afford it. Modern dubstep is a way for metal musicians , like myself, to play something that has similar aggression, and possibly have more success in terms of making a profit. I'm not trying to affenpinscher anybody I'm just putting in my two sense.
