take the break from a breaks track and use that pattern on your bassline... take the bassline from a breaks track and use that pattern for your beat...
filter and bounce and you've got dubstep

...no wonder d'n'b producers are finding it so easy to do dubstep
they prolly got shitloads of sub par tunes that just need to be pitched down to 140bpm, chuck the wack rolling beat away, put in a half step then dress it up again...
...i can see the true 2step/breaks inpired dubstep becoming squeezed in favour of lowest common denominator stuff being produced to satisfy the nu converts
and the convert d'n'b producers bringing their own fanbase across as well...
like "oh tech itch is into it and making it so it must be good..."
...errr use your own fucking judgment fella![]()
be easy to cash in on your hi dnb profile if you was to broaden your genre production to include dubstep so they'd be stupid to change identities...
...which is weird when you get true break/dubsteppas being all mysterious about making stuff that doesn't fit the mould of their previous efforts
then again we're thinknig of reincarnating as well to allow for our more spiritual side

amazingly .i agree with you . a new day cometh !
When I say euro basslines Im refering to the use of layered Reece style basslines played in silly trance anthem patterns.skosh wrote:euro basslines? please explain, sounds good to me ;o)
depends what you're hearing i suppose, some of the best dnb is coming from europe imo apart from uk which imo on the whole is shitDramaGeddon wrote:When I say euro basslines Im refering to the use of layered Reece style basslines played in silly trance anthem patterns.skosh wrote:euro basslines? please explain, sounds good to me ;o)
I know its not all like that, but it's 30% weak liquid, 30% terrible amen/reece noise, 30% jump-up clown shit and 10% decent dNb.
and that 10% is not enough to keep alot of the old skoolers interested as alot of the argument is that dNb is now too fast and/or there is not enough space to let the music breathe.
Yea, Im by no way narrow minded with music. Its just that I grew up listening to hip hop /rap and that eventually turned to shit.. now DnB. it seems to be that some genres reach a sell by date!!?skosh wrote:depends what you're hearing i suppose, some of the best dnb is coming from europe imo apart from uk which imo on the whole is shitDramaGeddon wrote:When I say euro basslines Im refering to the use of layered Reece style basslines played in silly trance anthem patterns.skosh wrote:euro basslines? please explain, sounds good to me ;o)

i probably dislike about 80% of dnb but there's 20% i absolutely love and that's enough to keep me going for the moment ;o)
...and it's possbile to like more than one genre at a time thankfully, so this dubstep shit is growin on me
yeah i was into techno before dnb and there's only a small amount of that i like now too, but is it because it's turned to shit or is it because it expands so much that there is just more diversity (good and bad) and you have to search more for the stuff that sounds good to you? or maybe the mainstream just takes over and suffocates the rest ..i do know that because of whats "popular" it's difficult to hear the dnb i like where i live and that really pisses me offDramaGeddon wrote:
