For 100 bucks you can get most of them here in vst format:
http://www.image-line.com/plugins/category/Juice+Pack

Best ones in that pack:
Delay Bank
Love Philter
Parametric EQ 2
Waveshaper
Wave Candy

I use "stereo enhancer" from that pack all the time to make bass mono after I frequency split a signal.
Why don't u just make the channel mono? :p
Because it isn't a channel, I do all the resampling and splitting inside of patcher. Also sometimes I like to leave it with a tiny bit of stereo width left because I am weird like that. :corndance:

Patcher makes it nice because I don't have to route a bunch of mixer channels around.
oooh right, yeah patcher is sick

I made a sort of vocally growl in my remake of the Dive Game. Made with FM8, no effects except for some distortion and reverb. Let me know if you want to know how I made it.
I need to stop announcing my age on Internet forums, people like to judge me

I'm interested for sure. I'm not too familiar with fm8 and I've been trying to get use to the interface. I understand the way FM works I just don't know how FM8 is routed. Teach me please? :D

Already did. I would like a different perspective on it. Or at least explained differently.

I've youtubed it before I just didn't have the patience with it. I use Sytrus as my FM but I wanted to hear it from him directly. But thanks for the suggestion :)

You don't need FM8 when you have Sytrus, FM8 is a piece of shit.

The best growl modulation isn't found in the synth its found in the carrier.
Too many people rely on the synth when in fact the carrier is what you should be screwing with.
Bad carrier = bad sound overall.

That's if you're running it through a vocoder though correct? HARMOR!!

You don't need vocoders for growls, eq modulation is much more effective, or convolution.

Aah I see what your saying. My brain didn't pick up on that right away for some reason. I agree with you though. Eq modulation and other effects are extremely important in achieving the growl.

Well of course you don't need them, but they add a touch, and of course there are many methods of design. I'm not stating theres a specific method. And of course, an7 vocoding done is heavily EQ'ed. When people say vocoder, they assume it means running the bands then poof, you have your dream sound.

You have to recreate the vocalization of the human voice when pronouncing a vowel. EQ's help you shape the waves in this form, and a vocoder, runs the bands of bass through the vowel movements. It makes for a more vowel sound.

Like that of Pegboard Nerd's remix of Alive - Krewella. That one vowely sounding growl. Was undoubtedly made with a vocoder (assuming so based on my knowledge.)

Spag Heddy, if you know him, also uses vocoding. I can prove that one, though.

Vocoders are an excellent touch! Good explanation. I use them often using vocal modulators and carrying it with an FM synthesiser. Then I route them into the vocoder adjust my bands accordingly bla bla bla. Pretty much everything you said. I'm so tired I'm in a state of dilerium so don't mind me rambling about. :H:
