nuts that there will literally never be a collection/ collector like that again.
It's definitely not the money that vexed him, more disbelief that someone, or museum or something would not jump at the opportunity to own/ archive/ display it. Surprised there wouldn't be any Art funding in the states that would cough up for it.

In other news after complaining that i couldnt afford anything i get wantlist notification for, i just broke the discogs lowest sale record with a couple VG+ bargains for a £10 each - so stoked. Brand new seller, doesn't know what he's doing!

According to the maker of that video Paul Mawhinney was finally able to sell his entire collection in 2012 (for what exact amount was not mentioned). Unfortunately though, by that time his health had deteriorated to such an extent that he had turned fully blind.

I regularly watch videos of people talking about and showing their collections and most of 'em usually have collections consisting of a couple of ten thousand records. This one though... I won't reveal the exact amount because I don't want to spoil it, but it's mental. It just made me laugh when he said how much records he actually had.
Unfortunately though, he was forced to sell his collection because of old age and health problems which is quite sad.
TBH I wouldn't wanna have that much, I wouldn't want to go past 5 figures.
