Re: what's with the war dubs?
What makes me laugh about 'dupstep producers' is that when they got embarrassed about the genre and tried to disassociate themselves with it, instead of pushing forward and experimenting musically, they just moved on to already established scenes and had nothing new to bring to them which is more embarrassing than the scene they fucked off.

Plus the only thing offensive about the majority of these war dubs is how poorly produced and shit they sound.
Most of these tracks would have been laughed at on here a couple of years ago, what has happened to make this music acceptable again? twitter maybe?

the reason those producers left the scene is because they had already pushed it forward and experimented as much as they could or wanted to, the next big names in the scene are pushing it again. It's not like you choose a genre when you start producing and only produce that for the rest of your career.Pedro Sánchez wrote:What makes me laugh about 'dupstep producers' is that when they got embarrassed about the genre and tried to disassociate themselves with it, instead of pushing forward and experimenting musically, they just moved on to already established scenes and had nothing new to bring to them which is more embarrassing than the scene they fucked off.
have you listened to a lot of the beats by the older producers who are fully in the grime scene? They're weak, on some of the beats i've seen comments saying 'killed it' 'war ended' bla bla which are ass kissing, these beats wouldn't get anywhere without the producers name on them. A lot of the beats by producers that aren't 'in the grime scene' (ye fuck them right) have killed it and are doing more for the grime scene than the older guys.Trainrek wrote:dont see what peoples problem with this is
fair enough fuck all the dubstep producers that have nothing to do with the grime scene getting involved
but this is the most productive the grime scene has been in looong lol
Re: what's with the war dubs?
Lichee the tune in your sig is better than most in this thread imo.

I agree with lichee.
These guys who aren't involved within the grime scene as such have not producers your boring repetitive bog standard 8 bar loops. They've taken the sound somewhere else.
How can anyone slag producers off that have tried something different?

Re: what's with the war dubs?
Don't you know? Those are the ones embarrassed by a music genre and its non established scene so they bandwagon the hype train to an already established scene to rehash old tunes/anthemsLichee wrote: have you listened to a lot of the beats by the older producers who are fully in the grime scene? Re: what's with the war dubs?
i dont care that the established grime guys beats sound shit, IMO most of these war dubs are shit anyway, regardless of the producers.
the point i am making is that all the dubstep guys are basically leeching off the grime scene when they really have no right to. I doubt any of these guys have ever even thought about making grime, now because of this shit theyre all like "YH GRIME BLUD BIG IN THE GAME"
dont even start me on the fact that some people are making trap and dubstep and labelling it a war dub. hell most of these war dubs aren't even proper war dubs anyway.

at least something we can agree onTrainrek wrote:i dont care that the established grime guys beats sound shit, IMO most of these war dubs are shit anyway, regardless of the producers.
.
but really are you guys complaining even reading what you guys are saying?
Leeching of the grime scene for making 1-2 tunes for a war nobody said it was "grime scene" only?
Stick to your scene man :') but then you guys are also complaining about not experimenting enough in the scene ??? sense this makes none
There are 6-7 "dubstep producers" I've seen thusfar making one
Embarrassed? Who are you talking about? Skream & Benga & others who left for disco/house/w/e or some producers having fun like wen/kahn/visionist/TMSV still making "dubstep" but now engaged in a "war dub". Also how can you be embarrassed by what you decide to make/put out? lol
people really should stop caring about genres this much if people want to hop/discover/make tunes in a different genre or with a different feel let them it's not like they force you to like/listen to it
Why are you guys even complaining, it's people making music which obviously THEY like, MAKING shit instead of TALKING shit. Just enjoy the few beats you do like

Re: what's with the war dubs?
It's X producer that does exactly this...Hence all the "I don't make dubstep now, I make THIS or THAT genre, dubstep has got stale" then they go on to make stale house, techno or 808Acidline. I'm not talking about the guys who have veered off and explored other musical possibilities and just did their thing like Mala, I'm talking about the one's who announce in a bold statement "I make 'This Style' now" because they are trying to stay relevant because really their music itself became boring and repetitive.mIrReN wrote:people really should stop caring about genres

lol this war dub thing now has basically turned into people showing off their sample libraries. Heard some tunes that are 90% vocal samples, 10% actual tune. Bun it.
