Spacey notch ripping from Misanthrop.

I'm pretty inspired by this old Misanthrop tune. it's incredible.

Anyone have any knowledge on how achieve that spacey hollow ripping sound with notch filters and maybe automated detuning?

I've got a good sound going in my synth at the moment just struggling to get the same tone and movement with filters.

Check out the reese bass thread here in sound design, maybe even post this sound there and ask for help, from there it is just trial and error.

This is a pretty common sound now.
