Codex - you know i like that tune, second drop is absolutely nuts!
Kaili - i like the idea of the tune, but the reeses sound kinda out of place and muddy, i think they could use some filtering/hipass action
FE - interesting tune, maybe i'd emphasize the first beat a bit, to make the rhythm kinda bolder if that makes sense.

here's one i finished, i thought i had started it this spring (which would be long enough to finish one tune) but apparently it's from last november lol

codex and johney, remember hearing older WIP's of both those tunes, definite improvement on both of them I'd say :Q:

Kaili
I don't think the reese is off at all. I think maybe the perc bits could do with being abit louder/ or compressed a bit differently to stick out more and really pack a punch. Just a thought.
The snare is maybe a tad to loud. Nice sound design.

Johney, Chekov & Mr Hyde - top work gents, really enjoyed all 3 of them tracks a great deal, can't really offer any advice/crit tbh, really enjoyed them as they are, would love copies if anyone's feeling generous :Q:

kalli, the tune in your sig is fucking mental, quality stuff

Friendly, it sounds like you have WAY too much going on in that tune. Dubtechno sounds best when it is ultra minimal and spacious (go listen to Pole/Basic Channel etc). So as it stands I'm not feeling it too much. Mix sounds alright to me though!

Johney - synth work is cool, but could maybe do with a little less release and decay to make it pluckier/turn the wet on the fx down a lil lil bit, unless that was the vibe you were goin for? Reminds me of a couple of Om Unit bits which is never a bad thing!

Codex - that Devvo sample made me swallow my cig smoke :( hahahah!

Travis Baker - TOO much. Sounds like four tet and Ital Tek engaged in some super hot musical foreplay! Some cheeky Scuba vibes in there too!

Exactly! . I would say though, that high frequencies (mainly rogue freqs) really fuck with our perception of how loud an element should be, so I've tried to learn to balance things off each other - for example -listening to the mid range of the bass solo'ed with the snare. In that instance the snare should only just 'push' through the mid and not overpower it.
I'm NOT saying your snare does in this track, - only that it can be good a way of balancing that usually works. And ofcourse listening to stuff really loud and really quiet.
Rules are bad though.

yeah i think youre right there, ive been using the listentoitreallyquietorreallyloud tip a lot lately. but ye the snare peaks really high on the tune haha :) also realised i wrote 'transiest' shaper up there, fml

Thanks johney, kaili & arktrix! :Q:

@arktrix: It's not meant to be a Dubtechno tune. For me personally it is actually a Dubstep tune, I just went for the description because of the chords, delay and stuff. I would love to produce with a more minimalistic approach but I just can't. :6:
