Hardstyle Type Lead

Post by itsHAZED » Wed Sep 25, 2013 12:23 am

What's the best way to create the lead used at the drop... I know it's a pretty common sound, any tutorials? http://soundcloud.com/lookasmusic/start ... s-x-enzo-1

Yep
Just get 3 saws in massive
one at 12.30
other at 12
other at -.3

Reverb + Dimension Expander/Delay

Can automate the pitch/filter to play with it a bit:P

Voicing on 3 or 5

In massive try this.

all oscilators are a basic square saw but you can mess around with different harmonics

all wavetable positions at hard left

1 osc at 0 with a basic lfo on the pitch to 3.00, max out the rate of the lfo.

2nd osc at .30

3rd osc at -.30
At this point it will sound like shit until you do the pitch cutoff

Add pitch cutoff to it until it sounds good to you

monophon

pan position to the left about 6/10ths or whatever sounds good to you

Optional:

Delay
Lowpass filter
Comb Filter

Enjoy.

Instead of manually detuning the saw OSCs you could just use the pitch cutoff in the voicing tab.

I don't see the point of using all three OSCs when you could use one and take advantage of the unisono settings.
