Your Favorite effects?

Post by R3b_Official » Sat Oct 05, 2013 3:50 pm

So lately ive been looking around for some better quality effects to get a different sound in my production and abletons stock ones are good but arent helping me get where i want to.

Do you have any third party effect plugins you love?

Ive been looking for a decent waveshaper and cant find anything like Cm's waveshaper. http://www.musicradar.com/us/computermu ... uys-575381

Tried cyanide 2 and wasn't working so well for me :?

Also looked for a good vocoder and didnt find anything better than abletons stock one, are there anything out similar to FL's vocodex?

Started looking for stuff like a ringmod or a good phaser to help with some of my resampling for reeses and what not, didnt find anything that keen.

I've download Meldaproductions free stuff and i like it but want know any other top notch effects by other companies.

I know camelaudio, Izotope, Wave Arts, and Fab Filter are well know but want to see if anyone knows any other companies or effects they use a lot and got good results!

Post stuff that you can't live without in your production or use on a daily basis. Links would be nice as well :w:

Thanks you guys :Q:

One of my favorite effects plugins im using a lot now is Effectrix. Basically an all in one with reverb, phaser, reverse function which is pretty interesting :4:

If you ave 100 bucks stashed away somewhere there is the Image-Line Juice Pack:
http://www.image-line.com/plugins/category/Juice+Pack

It comes with VST version of FL Waveshaper, PEQ2 and the Love Philter, it also has some other neat stuff.
You can buy Vocodex separately as well.

The only two free VSTs I have are:
1. CMT Bitcrusher
2. Boomcomb

They are both great.

Pretty much all I use are the default FL plugins.
I bought Harmor, Sytrus and NI Razor but Sytrus is by far my favorite.

Oh that sucks, it really is too bad a good portion of VSTs are windows only :(

Can you even dual boot windows and mac? I think they might cancel each other out and explode

Also, FL has a beta mac version *hint hint*

I can dual boot, i have a 1T hard drive so it capable for another partition but my mac would be super sluggish. Its the old fatter one from 2008, maybe 2 1/2 gigs of ram....

I have the mac beta and all it is a wrapper for mac and you can't use fl studio plugings on another daw or use your mac plugins in FL.

Its nice but not so nice since you're restricted...

I see, well if I find any cool Mac plugins I will be sure to post them here.

Waves H-EQ, RVerb and H-Delay as well as H-Comp get a lot of use. Also abletons stock compressor and eq 8.

Have you checked out the TAL stuff? I think it would answer a lot of you questions.

As far as stuff I use;

ValhallaRoom
Turnado iPad edition
Guitar Rig 5
Dc8c

But the 2 I can't live without would be Span and LSR level meter.
This space for rent.

ho hay, the old "what scaffolding did you use to build that house" thread.

:6:

worry not about plugins until you've garnered a few nuggets of wisdom from the secrets of psychoacoustic reception; which are as potent with cut n paste as they are in a million dollar studio.

Hendrix used 6 strings n an amp, although knowing what kind of strings and amp he used can be of some benefit, it's worth noting it isn't generally where the magic happens.

Not saying you didn't know this already. I'm just saying is all.

This.

This x100000000000000.

Also unless your effects are analog emulations they are going to be the same quality as any other effect. This is digital audio, the algorithms are the same from one plug to another.

He said he is on mac, so he can't use it. :(

It is amazing though, especially when pair with patcher, formula controller and the env controller.
Custom filters FTW

Absynth is fantastic as an effect module. I used it on the huge dirty bass in my track Doppelganger:

(comes in at about 1:30, and again at 3:00)

If you'd like I can show you exactly what it contributed, just PM me. Absynth is pretty awesome.

Delay is my favorite plugin, can do some crazy shiz with it. Bifilter is a kool filter plugin I like to use. Image-line makes some very nice plugins like parametric eq 2, if you are willing to buy the juicy pack or what ever it is called. Also, one of the vocoders from FL are in the pack.

Digital effects are designed and engineered, they all sound different.

I don't think they all just copy paste each other's code and call it xx delay.

LFO Tool is my only one. Always tried to stick with Live's native effects except when I really needed something else.

I've always been looking for tapestop freeware that works on mac. lemme know if you hear of any.
