Casino Royale - still fucking mint.

Fear & Loathing - hadn't watched it in a while, forgot how much darker the diner scene is than in the book

LA Confidential - GF had never seen it, seeing as we're loving House Of Cards thought it might be good to revisit some other vintage Spacey.

Utter shite. The whole premise is ridiculous and a poor attempt at battle royale

Not bad, an entertaining enough 90 minutes, ending was a bit of a letdown though

Amazing film. Highly recommend it.
Also, this is more of a documentary sort of thing, but it's absolutely fantastic. You really have to see this.

Pretty damn good this one - wealthy businessman gets kindapped and as more things about his life become public it turns his colleagues and family against him.

Freaky Deaky
Low budget version of one of Elmore Leonard's less serious books. Acid, dynamite and Christian Slater. Faithful to the original text, and delivered largely with snappy aplomb. Worth a watch, book is still better.

Woody Allen.
Some of the more recent ones are great too;
Midnight in Paris, Rome With Love, Vicky Cristina Barcelona etc.
I fucking love Woody Allen and the girlfriend likes them too.

Drive. Second watch. Enjoyed it the first time but didn't completely 'get' it. I wasn't waiting for anything this time, just followed the story and it is brilliant. I didn't like the ending or agree with everyone's actions the first time around but this was like a different film. Actually lived up to the hype here.

I went cinema to watch it so must be 2 years ago now.. don't really remember it. Just remember being massively disappointed, probably the romantic part yeah.
Edit: wasn't it promoted as Bourne meets Inception? Think it was, dead giveaway a films gunna be horseshit when they do X meets X.
Just finished this:
Really enjoyed it.

^Yeah man, manchurian candidate is strong. I sample it quite a bit as well.
Had pretty high hopes for this given how positively people chat about it, but was disappointed.
It's
so god damn heavy-handed and melodramatic. Constant string music and cartoony, simple characters. The scene early on where the young ed norton character was on the TV blaming minorities for his dad being killed was cringeworthy. Plus the racist people are laughably slobbish and evil. Really has nothing interesting to say about racism IMO.

If you want the same topic with a less cringeworthy take (although I really didn't like the end) "the believer" is very good
