ableton emergency
so i'm trying to export my track from ableton. no weird settings outside of the norm except i'm trying to export in 96k and 32bit to follow along with a mixing and mastering tutorial i've been working on. the problem is that there is no sound for the first second or two then the audio comes in, just like some of the recent osiris digitals. it's driving me mad. obviously everything is scooted over to 1.1.1 in ableton and all the midi notes i have are definitely starting at that time as well...this is absolutely destroying my buzz, can anyone help?
Re: ableton emergency
I would consider doing any mastering type jobs after you have rendered your mix and additionally I will usually add a second of silence at the beginning of my mix once it is finished. Also, I do not see the reason to export to 32 bit. I believe that 24 bit would be sufficient.
Re: ableton emergency
oh no, i am exporting to DO home-mastering, this is just the mix. i've tried adding 1000ms of track delay on the master before exporting and it still skips the first 2 midi notes, which are a hi-hat and sample. both midi notes are on the same track, starting at 1.1.1.
just tried 24 bit and it didn't work. just scooted the whole track over and that fixed it, i'll just have to trim the silence off the beginning. still concerned with the reason why this is happening. hoping it was some screw up on my part.
i was really hesitant to scoot the track over because i've done that in the past and it really screwed up the automation in many places (due to my own error no doubt, but still scared me). with this workflow i have used for this tune it wasn't so bad.

Re: ableton emergency
I've had something similar happening. It was because I had a too big audio effect rack on the master (I ungrouped the effects and it was k). Try turning off different things in your project and check if the problem is solved.
It shouldn't happen tho, forward it to ableton developers.

Re: ableton emergency
Some kind of buffering/sampling problem maybe?

Nah, I bet it's the plugins he has in the project making that delay.AxeD wrote:Some kind of buffering/sampling problem maybe?

Re: ableton emergency
Click on 1.1.1, go to the "create" drop down on the top bar, select insert silence (command+I) and add in a bar. Will nudge your whole track properly and keep all the automation in it's proper place.
Then you can just get rid of that extra bar later when exporting your master.
