Really? The CGI is beyond ugly. Even if they weren't boring badly written badly acted films. The CGI would still make them look ugly and dated

the third of the prequels has better writing and than the third of the originals.

the cgi i can live with really. tbh i could live with yoda looking like an extra for the muppet show in the original series, didn't find the cgi as jarring as in some other films

The third one is boring as fuck. It ties up the plot but it serves pretty much no entertainment value. The guy playing anakin still sucks hugely at acting too. I can't see how anyone can think it's best.

The "killing younglings" bit is one of the most hilariously awful bits in any fucking film ever too. Even the reasoning behind that bit happening is awkward and badly thought out even letting slide how fucking hilarious that line and scene is in it's shitness

For once, I agree with everything Wolf's saying. Bunch of wank, those films. Even the (admittedly impressive) lightsaber choreography looks shit when you think about it, because they're clearly not trying to hit eachother, they're just acting out dance moves with sticks.

everything wolf has said has been spot on.. not sure why its so hard to grasp. funny thing is that the best movie out of the series, empire strikes back, was the movie george lucas had the least to do with.

also the entire first three episodes shows how out of touch and alien the emotion of love is to george lucas. the relationship he builds between anakin and padme is creepy.

The only reason the first three didn't go wrong is he had other people holding him back from making stupid mistakes to be honest. There's some pretty ridiculous ideas he had about the series originally

Now that I think about it I really don't like Star Wars that much.

Unlike the first/last three where Luke is trying to bone his sister.

FUN FACT - Lucas originally wanted to call the original film "Luke Starkiller Saves The Galaxy". Some of his backers advised him that name was a bit shit, so it ended up being changed to Star Wars.

i don't really like star wars, but surely this could be said for all fight scenes in movies ever?

Why did they never just turn the beam off so it passes through the other guys defence, then turn it back on quickly and skewer him.

The prequels weren't good, but it's not like the original trilogy had a consistent storyline with strong acting and engaging dialogues. I cringed at "laserbrain" when I was 10. That's seriously not an age to be cringing about movie dialogue.

'The Empire Strikes Back' is still the best out of the whole bunch tho', but the only thing that made any of the movies what they were was the universe they're set in. Loving the original trilogy and then berating the prequels on shortcomings in their acting, writing and storyline isn't that logical.
