Midi Controller for ipad
I recently stumbled upon an ipad, and I was wondering if there was any good midi controller apps or something I could install to use my ipad as a midi controller. I'm working in logic pro 9 if that helps at all?

There is ENDLESS amounts of stuff what uses wifi signal or USB to use ipads and tablets as midi controllers
JazzMutant is the creme of the crop for iOS - its around 50$ I think : http://liine.net/en/products/lemur/

Lemur is still the king. After that touchOSC is really good. But, lemur is still the best if you want totall controll. $50, but better then the $2k it used to cost.

I like to hear from people who have used it on these forums who actually know what they're doing or aren't biased, so that rules out most demo videos. I'll PM sharmanji thanks!legend4ry wrote:I'm pretty sure I read that Sharmanji owns it; give him a PM maybe?

Re: Midi Controller for ipad
I don't have it just because I don't like using my ipad as a controller. I use it mostly for synths and fx.
Just some food for thought, if you do want to use it as a controller you're going to need some sort of interface otherwise the lag will make it un usable.
The iodock is ok but I wouldn't recommend it. I rig midi is really nice, and charges your pad too. Iconnect midi 2 is going to be the shit if it ever comes out ( 2 months past due already

sequencer is awesome for people like me who are not good with music theory
but it only supports editing via the clip page
havent played around with automation yet but to be able to record your filter by hand seems pretty awesome
setup instructions for pc given on the site were wrong
wasted 2-3 hours trying to figure out why it wouldnt work properly:P

I use Touch OSC pretty regularly with Serato and Logic 9 (can use it for Ableton, but don't). Pretty versatile and you can make your own layouts which I found very useful (though the pre setup ones for the daws are pretty good).
I make music as Forsaken, you can DL all my unreleased (and a couple released) bits here.

What kind of midi controller? Keyboard? Knobs? Pads? XY?PillowFight wrote:I recently stumbled upon an ipad, and I was wondering if there was any good midi controller apps or something I could install to use my ipad as a midi controller. I'm working in logic pro 9 if that helps at all?

Alpha, you have any experience with this? I just decided, I'm picking this up, no matter the cost. I don't even know what the fuck is going on with me. There is so much AWESOME shit going on now, it is like too much to try to engage it all, or even a tiny slice of it. Things that a few years ago, would have commanded my full attention, just pass by with a simple thought, "oh, that is cool."
Wtf, this new world.

Re: Midi Controller for ipad
theres tons of logic controllers for ipad (seeing as apple owns logic it'd be silly for there not to be) - but ive read a few articles here and there in relation to this.
do a lil google/youtube search.
