Yeah i think 20 isn't very likely
we can cross that bridge when we come to it

Re: IDEA: Thematic Contest. Thoughts?
I'm certain that I've seen some voter fraud (or at least some friend supporting), in the past, but have we seen it in either of the current contests?cent4ur wrote:My idea is that this judging thing will solve issues of incognito voting
Re: IDEA: Thematic Contest. Thoughts?
No, but there was a kid who made three accounts to vote for his track in one of the contests not too long ago...then had all three accounts bigging up the tune in the contest thread.
Re: IDEA: Thematic Contest. Thoughts?
That is class
I could at least understand if a $5k remix deal was riding on the outcome. I could understand it at least. But a contest on an old drifting derelict asteroid, not so much.
I think that alpha felt there was something fishy going on in one of these contests, but I don't know which, and I don't know what exactly.

There have been a few contests with 'voting irregularities', think Electric Head clocked some dubious turnarounds before. But this was the first we've actually caught (via IP checking) of a guy using three seperate accounts to vote AND big up his tune in a single thread.

Re: IDEA: Thematic Contest. Thoughts?
Yep.
One of the comps the votes on a specific track went up by at least 15 votes in the space of a few minutes If my memory serves me.
Funnily enough though, my track still beat the track in that specific comp.
But that's a rare occasion where it sort of didn't work as the voter intended.

You know what? I, MORE THAN EVAR, are ready for the tuna thread.
My sacks are dripping.

Re: IDEA: Thematic Contest. Thoughts?
the greatest idea the production board came up with. basically it was a once a week challenge. a theme was chosen by a randomly selected participant and then you had a week to build a tune around that idea. then they were submitted to who ever was running it and everyone gave each other feedback on the tunescent4ur wrote:what is tuna week?

Re: IDEA: Thematic Contest. Thoughts?
a couple people have tried to revive it (myself included) but the issue is finding a consistent group of people who can submit material each week

Re: IDEA: Thematic Contest. Thoughts?
I can do it. I could do tuna day during the week.
Re: IDEA: Thematic Contest. Thoughts?
well then let's extend the period of time to a week once a month.
this way we'll have an edition every month thus allowing users to revigorate themselves.

Well in tuna week, we don't vote. Do we? I don't recall any voting. Just commentary and discussion.
Re: IDEA: Thematic Contest. Thoughts?
yeah and if you get a decent amount of people say >5 then even if one or two miss out then there's still enough to go.
its not like one has to enter every week.

Re: IDEA: Thematic Contest. Thoughts?
The point was to keep the pressure on the creative glands, you know?
Re: IDEA: Thematic Contest. Thoughts?
well yeah but you dont want to be feeling like you have to finish otherwise the whole thing closes
Re: IDEA: Thematic Contest. Thoughts?
Some of us won't otherwise. *looking around nervously*
I say you don't turn in a tuna, someone comes to your house, kicks in your door, and gives you one good whack with a bat to the knees. Tracks would be finish, I assure you. No, oh I wasn't in the mood, mood's a thing for cattle and love play. Looking at you alphacat.
