Vengeance Dubstep Samples
Are they legal to use in commercial tracks?
I've read other threads, but couldn't really get a straight answer. And who owns the Vengeance Samples company? Is it ReFX? Because I know that they're known to sue..

Re: Vengeance Dubstep Samples
As an aside, buying dubstep samples to make dubstep is going to make your music sound really derivative and stale. Get a funk/soul sample pack or some jazz drums or some weird experimental electronic recordings from the 80's to chop up and mangle.

Re: Vengeance Dubstep Samples
The Vengeance Dubstep sample packs have pretty good drum loops, that's what I use them for.
Re: Vengeance Dubstep Samples
all about those VEE snares. everything else is meh and kind of over the top. they have a tendency to add effects to a lot of their drums instead of leaving them dry which always puts me off.

Bro check out these tired beats, shit's staler than a breadstick mahniqqafragments wrote:Some how I feel the goal is to be stale these days.SunkLo wrote:

I heard they will sneak into your house in the middle of the night and demagnetize your hard drives. They don't call them Vengeance for nothing.Supertux wrote:Are they legal to use in commercial tracks?

Re: Vengeance Dubstep Samples
I really hate the vengeance percussion samples, well and everything else in those packs.
If I need drumloops to chop I use the ones that came free with Protools SE (which came free with my D/A converter), it comes in as a total of around 3.65 GB of free cleared sounds..
But usually I just use the 5 or so samples that I have had forever and have edited to perfection, which I edit to fit every track.
I also sometimes I synthesize my own percussion or even record it, (recently I recorded a knife sharpening noise and used in it a neurohop track.)
It is good to get creative rather than rely on pre-made effect laden samples as the basis of your songs.

Re: Vengeance Dubstep Samples
Goldbaby >>>>>>> vengeance.
Vengeance "special sounds" is bullshit imo reeling in naive producers making them lifelong customers by giving them an easy way to make a shitty track that 500 people have already made.
And the "synth hits" folders in vengeance packs are pointless. Make your own synth sounds. Samples are only really good for drums and vocals imo. Maybe fx/noise stuff too but that's about it.

Re: Vengeance Dubstep Samples
Oh and I use the vengeance house packs for drums and fx just as much if not more than the dubstep one. Sample packs aren't about genres. They're about sounds. Pick up a reggae pack. That should have some good stuff in it.
Re: Vengeance Dubstep Samples
I love the goldbaby packs but the percussion isnt great in the ones I've bought...
I love weird little sounds for percussion.. Anyone recommend any goldbaby type packs with weird percussion?
The grant nelson packs are really good for percussion but I've pretty much used most of the percussion sounds in those somewhere along the line

Re: Vengeance Dubstep Samples
Well no one is checking to make sure you use a sample only once. You know?

Re: Vengeance Dubstep Samples
I have approximately 42,503 kick samples. Every time I'm going through looking for a kick, I choose the same one out of four. You're gunna work overtime on me bubba.
