Isn't Canada quite a cold country though...getting to nearly November before a frost isn't too bad, considering where you are?

Canada has multiple climate zones, the whole country isnt the arctic.
When it comes to latitude, im more south than most of you in the UK.

Well, guess what your definition of "big" is really. Places like Anchorage, Murmansk and Arkhangelsk (Russian youuuu, couldn't be alone, couldn't be alone) are of a decent size.
Looking at this list, I came across the most badman name for a town...
Hammerfest, Norway
If the biggest source of employment in that town isn't "Black Metal Guitarist", I'll be very surprised.

Sandy Balls in Hampshire and Longleng in India make me chuckle, also I once had lunch in a village called Fingringhoe and there's a little village a couple of miles from where I live called Pratt's Bottom
