I don't think my ear for compression is finely tooned enough to really take advantage of those features.
I'm simple, like if I want a glue compressor, boom, I use a glue compressor, if I want a smack compressor, I use a smack compressor... I don't know, I think DMG products are next level, but Compassion kind of escapes me. You use any good tutorial vids or anything, or just trial and error?

Re: Creating Samples
Just foolin with it. You can see some of the changes on the gain reduction graph.
Sometimes it's a matter of figuring out what you need intellectually and then using your ear to get the parameters in the right place. You definitely don't use all the features at once. It's just sort of a swiss army knife approach; when you need some obscure tweak to the gain reduction, you can snap out the bottom panel and calibrate it to produce that sort of result.
