First post and question

Post by InfiniteBass » Sun Oct 27, 2013 11:07 pm

Hey everyone this is my first post just wanted to introduce myself. I am excited to be a member of this form I am a big fan of dub step I want to learn more about it and figured this is the best place to go... :W:

My first actual question for the experts here is I have been in an argument with friends for a while now about this I found a song on youtube that I actually really like Ill put the link below.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XOZT0MB45zc

I want to know aside from being obviously "Vocal Dubstep" is there an actual sub category for this type of music thanks -

Not quite what I was looking for thats a little too chill for me and not enough vocals I was actually looking for what you would find on youtube when you type in "Vocal Dubstep" similar to songs like the one I posted and this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A4C3vTUCJzk

Chill step is more or less like the trance version of dub step IMO obviously... this is somewhat like progressive dubstep in relation to house... I am just wondering if there is a specific type of subclass to this exact type of music

Thanks for all the videos you posted but none of them are really what I am looking for they are very different from what I have posted.

I have never heard of a such thing and even when I google this nothing shows up

Also Deep Skull step also isn't really a genre I could find I am not sure I will ever find a sufficient answer to this question lol. Thanks for trying everyone.

To the last guy right above me that's a ridicules statement that I'll get a BS answer like that when I don't appreciate the tunes posted... I posted a specific question I appreciate the attempt to help identify the genre but not the trolling on your part. Thanks tho bro I appreciate all your help as well

Hello InfiniteBass! Welcome to the forum. This type of music is known as witch dubstep. It takes parts of witch techno, deep jamican dub, and german step music making witch dubstep. It's a fairly new genre and you may find it difficult to find much information about it on the internet. If you want to check out some more witch dubstep listen to the self claimed creator Zomby. Follow him here https://twitter.com/ZombyMusic and if you have the time send a tweet his way. Don't forget to hit the big ups!

^ youre wrong, chillstep is 130-140bpm downtempo dubstep.
go on youtube and type in chillstep and listen to the results.
a trance version of dubstep sounds like borderline brostep...

Yeah I guess, but some of the really mellow chill dub has quite a lot of trance elements
