Spending 500-1k on a synth to sit and program a bunch of shit via mouse in a daw just seems....

I dunno...not something I want to do at least lol

Seriously, you'd have to be at least aspergers if not full on autistic.

But if you have a project with a bunch of outboard synths, you just record all the patches at the start of the track, open the project, set the synths to receive, play, boom, all your patches back.

I work with a Virus, but I just save them locally and recall them (if I'm gonna save them - that is only when I come up with a patch that I like but is not right for what I'm doing).

I don't ever save any patches....I mean I can recal them by opening the project file. ...I have a few presets saved in Love Philter but that is about it. I have few template type patches saved on the mopho as well. I guess if you setup a daw template you'd only have to do the work once. But meh. I spent years learning and doing everything but actually making music. I just can't be arsed w the tech ical crap these days.

I feel you bruv, I spent all of my useful hours yesterday wrestling with a vcr that ultimately is going to get fucked by me because it pissed me off so much. Like I'm literally going to fuck the tape slot and jizz into the internals and then toss that thing in the trash like the whore fuck it is. I've got another vcr that I've now spent another hour on trying to get it to record. I think it records audio only if there is a video source connected. Fuck you Zenith for that bit of fucking infinite wizdom. You piece of shit antiquated no fuck company.

Yeah, so all my time spent on technical, no time on music makes nwj a very dull boy.

Yea. Most home vcrs won't record unless there is a video input. I threw out like three goodwill vcrs and a really highend super vhs unit before I figured it out. And half the time w the cheal homes you are fucked for recording wo the remote...

I'm wondering how they see the input? Can I spoof it somehow? Was just listening to some microkorg I've got recorded on this vhs tape, sounds amazing. Actually doesn't sound better, it feels better, it is below the level of sound. I can't id the freq, or dynamic, or noise, it is at the level of feeling. Can't wait to pick up that porta 424 mk3. Should be tomorrow, halloween is jacking everyone's schedule.

Yeah, I could use the remote, but I've got a spot in my desk rack for it, so can reach it. But still...

I used to just record the "snow" from a small cheap TV. That was enough input.

Yeah for the life of me, I don't have a video source. Crazy isn't it?

I wonder if I could send like a volt to the video imput?

Or could I run the video output from the VCR into its own input?

I mean I can recall them by opening the project file.
I've still not figured out how to do this really, and there isn't much on the web about it which is odd. Thought it would be a well documented thing.

Still had great fun last night recording bars whilst going nuts with different filters. Probably my favorite track to date I've made.
