Joy O should just make a 60 min long edit of HYPH MNGO.

Whagwan with Monica anyway.

Rated that tune more than Hackney, altho big up the identical strings.

Hackney Parrot/Monica would've been a mad 12

Yeah but Nancy's Pantry tho

Loefah remixing Faze Miyake which should be getting a release is good news, hopefully more on the Western tip rather than those bits in the Unoman mix.

yeah the solitaire tracks seem to be almost universally disliked lol, i agree to be honest they're pretty boring and i don't enjoy the trap vibe that they give off

grand master is pretty good, and i don't think champion is absolute trash either, just a bit boring. but i feel like it's meant to be that way, sort of an opener/bridge tune.

tbh saying they have a trap vibe is just ignorance of his back catalog, listen to something like its yours from 6 years ago and you'll hear that he's really just going back to a lot of his older ways, especially with the way he's using film samples

I know his back catalog man haha i'm a serious loefah fan, one of my fav dubstep producers and the tracks he used to make i love, got a lot of it on vinyl... the 'trap vibe' i'm referring to is his use of hi hats in grand master, it's a fairly minor thing

edit: just realised i used the word 'they' in my first post, i was only talking about grand master. even though champion is arguably a more dislikable tune

Yeah not really saying they're shit but they are a bit boring and certainly wouldn't fit a Faze Miyake remix.. hope he just strips it back and adds his signature knock ya over sub low bass.

Hes spoke very highly of Faze recently.. Swamp release? :6:

It was just sort of endless house rollers, but not in a good way.

He played one or two "harder" more techno ish tunes that were really good, as well as the classics (swims, etc), but the rest just didn't seem to go anywhere and felt a bit disjointed. Hard to explain really as some DJs can make a roller set that just captures you in the dance and an hour goes in 5 minutes, but it just didn't gel for me.

You know when you can tell even the DJ isn't enjoying his set? It felt like that.

Yeah I was a little disappointed by his set, was shocking compared to his b2b with Boddika last year.

^I'm hoping cos it's b2b with Jackmaster, it'll be quality when I see him

EDIT: Just seen Sebmann & Llesca/Georgia Girls are playing on the same night for 2 quid, might just fuck it off for that, after the bad reviews he's been getting here recently

I saw Joy like 2 week ago in liverpool and it was like pure techno with some housier stuff thrown in but mostly just a really dark techno tip. He was following person sound who had also played pretty much an hours set of even darker techno so that might have had influence
