Mixdown needs a fair bit of work really, sub and main wobble seem to be conflicting with each other somewhat (am on some £20 cans at work) but they don't seem to work together very well. Maybe too much low end in your lead wobbles? Hat's are way too loud aswell, bring them down a fair bit. Only listened halfway as the assault on my ears was too much in the end, but with a decent mixdown this would be a bit of a banger.

I'm not necessarily familiar with British English but I assume you mean you are listening on some cheap speakers. It's actually impossible that the wobble and sub are conflicting because I have an EQ on them both, one lowpassed and one highpassed accordingly, and I took the frequencies of both of them and macroed them so they are constantly at equilibrium. I think what you are referring to is the sort of amp distortion noise coming off the wobble. That has nothing to do with the sub, and I added it because it fills space nicely and adds a certain texture to the bass, thus overall adding a certain feel to the song. As far as hi-hats, I personally like my percussion on the loud side rather than not loud enough. As a matter of fact I think it cuts through nicely, personally. I generally hear criticism and then take a listen to the track and lo-and-behold I hear the same thing, but not in this case. I think our disagreement lies in the difference between our sound quality. If I understood correctly you are listening on some cheap speakers, while I am listening on some decent Sennheisers, but I appreciate the critique regardless.

Yea these are some cheap ass cans, but have had them a long time and know them quite well, something didn't quite seem to sit right in there, but maybe it's just me.

Edit - After listening again, could well be that bass heavy kick with the long tail which sounds a lot like an untreated Vengeance kick, they used to cause prob's in my mixes too way back when.

Ahh ok. Yes I've had problems with those in the intro so I removed the 808, but i thought it wouldnt hurt the drop as much, as I have the 808 layered on the generally longer sounding kicks. That could very well be what you're hearing. I'll definitely check it out and give it a tweak if necessary.

as with all bro-ish sounding tunes these days, i think the random synths could do with some work and more modulation FX (sweeps/delay/reverb), and perhaps more coherence in the synth work. that background melody you've got going on is nice though. add some reverb tails to your drums too, fills up the track at a bit more during those stop-start points.

Stay tuned - I been working on the track and I've taken everything into consideration, and will shortly be posting a (what I believe is) much cleaner version, and I would like follow-up.

Edit:

The sub sounds a lot cleaner as I changed the waves from square3 to sin waves (I originally used square3 at the urging of some online nitwit in an ableton live sponsored tutorial) and cut out some of the bass from the kick. I also took another listen and the hi-hats did sound a little loud so I lowered them to the point where they were clearly audible, yet not overwhelming. I also added a little more reverb tail to the hi-hats to fatten the sound. As far as the main synth, I modulated a few effects onto it to give it a progessive, morphing sound, but not drastically so. Feedback?
