DOA Gone?

Post by Echoi » Fri Nov 08, 2013 4:15 pm

Probably a repost. Not been on DOA for a year or so, just went to have a look as it's a good source for break's and tip's etc, and it's gone, financial prob's apparently. Bit of a shitter really!

"On 23 September 2013, the forum was taken offline and has not reappeared since, with no explanation as to why it was taken down. In a quickly set up alternative forum, several of the former forum moderators have pledged to find a way to resurrect the website."

I can't be quoted on this, but when I did some digging I saw the number 157k being thrown around from a few sources...
No idea if that is true or close, but it's what I've see

157k a year? Absolutely positively not.

Sadly, there were tons of great samples for free up there that will be hard to find again. Thankfully I have them all.

Yea. That's fucking nuts. I'm sure you could do it for 1K USD easily. Likely less.

Depends on the sort of traffic they were getting but yeah 150k+ seems very unlikely.

Weird it kinda just dissapeared with no warning.

More traffic = higher server costs... depends if the ads you have can counter that.

Yes.. you can.

Seriously though, really wish I had put more time into The Grid, spent WAY more time here than I did there. Tons of useful bassline knowledge etc seemingly gone without a trace.

Would be nice if someone in the know shed some light on this, happened over a month ago and still shrouded in mystery. :?
