So recently I've been experiencing with the darker, deeper side of dubstep. I know tons of artists, but I've just recently started trying to produce it.
My aim is to be able to get a powerful bass, that mixes subs and mid-range together, as I have all the foundations laid down for a track, just waiting for a deep bass to kick in.
An example of that would be http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x0DkP-LZ9A0 (insane song btw).
So how would one go around making a bass sound like the hit at 00:34.
Of course I'm not looking for a step-by-step tutorial, but rather for an overall explanation of who one would make such a sound.
My guess is:
- Low sine-triangle automated between the two.
- Some flanger/phaser going on
- HP/LP/RES/Band filter automation
- Loads of EQ.
What other processes would you use to create a bass as shown?
Please let me know in details, it truly interests me.
Have a good one
