Seriously the penultimate tune towards at the end of the set is one of the most dangerous tunes I've heard in a while.

Has a sample of an MC, (Trim etal./) saying 'it's alot'. Nastiest 2-stepper - I need to hear that on a big rig!!!

Spot on mate, FACT announced this today


Manchester-based duo Akkord will be releasing their debut album for Fabric sub-label Houndstooth in the coming months.

Yesterday, the shady pair – both of whom have been releasing singles individually since the late ’00s – posted a countdown on their Tumblr, we believe to the album’s release date on November 25 (Houndstooth have already confirmed that an album is in the works on the label’s official Twitter). The album will follow a pair of self-released singles and a recent EP, Navigate.

The duo have also re-posted the recent video for Navigate‘s title track, accompanied by a number 8 (of sorts), on Facebook. This, we suppose, could be a reference to the track’s place on the album tracklist. More as we have it.

Following a pair of highly sought-after white labels and the superb Navigate EP, Akkord return to Houndstooth with their self-titled debut album.

Akkord began as a shadowy collective with an espoused passion for mathematics and sacred geometry, crafting intelligent and beautifully oppressive electronic music. Eventually revealed as a collaboration between experienced Mancunian bass producers Synkro and Indigo, 'Akkord' blurs the lines between junglist revivalism, smoky ambience, and suctioned dub, with a consistently engaging pulse linking the styles. Carefully arranged and achieving maximum impact on a proper soundsystem, Akkord have turned in an ominous and daring debut LP.

Previews of each track on the album will be revealed during the weeks leading up to the release via akkordmusik.net and other sources.

'Akkord' is to be released on 25th November 2013. Available on double LP, cut to heavyweight 180g vinyl by mastering engineer of the year, Matt Colton, CD and digital.
