There is a massive poster for this on the wall in what is one of the best pubs in Plymouth (a tiny grimy feeling place with a cd juke box with no pop music on it that stays open real late all week and is fully of punks, bikers, metal heads and students who don't go to the standard types of places). Me and my mates always talk about how we want to see it anytime we're there.

Is it worth watching then?

is one of my favourite comedies, don´t know how it will sound tranlated to english though is a very local films. All the first films from alex de la iglesia are very funny too, specially "el dia de la bestia "

So I realised today after watching rise of the planet of the apes that it was the first planet of the apes movie I ever watched. (I know I know). And it was pretty damn good ! ANyone on here can tell me which ones to watch/ To avoid ? I reckon the one with Charlton Heston is mandatory, are there any other ones ?

Did you never go to the Nowhere Inn? It''s near the uni and near halls but it seemed to mainly have punks, older students and a few oddball characters in there all the time and would basically stay open as long the dude could be bothered. The juke box was the main draw though as it was all cds not one of those ones with a hard drive like most places, half of which were compilations from regulars. Sure if you wanted anything to drink apart from Hobgoblin or house spirits you were largely out of luck and it was pretty small and dingy feeling but I liked it there and yeah it does have a Accion Mutante poster on the wall that's absolutely massive. Also it's funny reading all the toilet graffiti as basically all the walls and ceilings are covered in it which is all a mixture of really immature humor and attempted anarchic philosophical statements.

:W:

It's fine with the translation and I think its probably on torrent. Worth a watch - really camp in a good way. It has the best joke ever which I wont spoil.

Oh and its sort of an erotic scifi :corndance:

Bones Brigade: An Autobiography
So inspirational and a must watch for any skater, people making everything out of nothing and watching successful people grow up from nothing. I know I've been on a Mullen tip on here lately, but this solidified me needing to read his autobiography especially with the other riders describing him freaking out a few times and just disappearing for hours and reappearing like nothing happened in it. It's really inspirational.

Elysium
Better than critics slated it, kinda a cliche plot and points to it were cliche, just as great as District 9 and killer Sci-Fi. Matt Damon did a great job as well as the actor who played Kruger. Jodie Foster was the only bad performance to me sadly.

Rewatched Valhalla Rising
Still love it and solidifies why I love Refn as a director. Drive was his "American cinema" movie, and Only God Forgives was the sequel to this. Beautiful cinematography, minimal dialogue that is a great plot, and just an overall slow burner that is rewarding to rewatch over and over. If you don't get the end there is the director's commentary track explaining it like Only God Forgives.

The Blob
Classic horror with iconic B-Movie actors, still love it to this day.

Riddick
All I wanted out of a return and Vin was smart to get the IP back and put his house on the line for it. His love of the character and nerdom comes through, it's like Pitch Black 2, but Diesel is Conan this time.

Hara-Kiri: Death of a Samurai
One of the best Takashi Miike flicks period. Took my top slot from Ichi the Killer. Much more serious tone and reminded me of when Tarantino cared about making good movies. I don't just expect Miike to make bizarre flicks like in the past after this.

Berserk: The Golden Arc - The Descent
Probably the most powerful part of the manga and anime being redone as a full fledged anime film movie. Even more graphic and heart wrenching than the anime, and more true to the books besides a hentai company doing the rape scene making it seem like she liked it. Otherwise hoping they do the rest of the manga as movies now or an anime. And waiting 5 more years for next chapter of the manga that the creator has been working on since the 80s that he will probably die before he finishes it. One of my fave stories ever of vengeance.

This is a remake - have you seen the original? If so how does it compare, if not watch it, it's a masterpiece!

Jesus fucking christ the hacking off of his arm and the claw in the eye, I was pulling my face off in horror
The whole Eclipse part was fucked.

They arnt going to do anything more with it though, its only 11months since the last chapter but I doubt he will die before its done. I mean hes only like 47 or something and hes been making some new 6 part series for next year.

God only knows why they havent done a 360/ps3 but now 4 and xbone game in all this time.

He's obsessed with Idolmaster. only 11 months will become a couple more years before a new chapter like always.
WB originally intended to just do this trilogy but due to interest might cover another arc from the manga as well now.
The japanese PS2 game is the best we'll get with the Souls games being heavily influenced by Berserk and Dragon's Dogma actually having armor and weapons to make your own Guts or Griffith.

Love the original and love what Miike did with it. So refreshing to see him not make it bizaare.

Ha yeah I know that but hes being going for 20 years! The next arc would be pretty good as its all gone to hell at that point, Souls games are close I suppose. Speaking off

Has anyone seen any Lars Von Trier? He's got a new one out, plenty of hardcore action in it might be worth a look.
