I do like the idea of it however. Don't think the whole corrupt pope thing has been done before (at least I've never seen one). It just needs to pick up the tempo a bit. It's stuck at 128 and I need 140 yanno

I reckon Jimmy McGovern is a brilliant writer for tv, judging by The Street & his input into a new series of Redfern Now currently showing in OZ.
Question of anybody in the know: Which of his other work, Moving On, Accused, Silk, Black Mirror & Hustle would you recommend?

Black Mirror is definitely worth a look. Comes and goes, but when it comes...

House of Cards is one of the best things I've watched all year, on par if not more enjoyable than Breaking Bads final season.

People are giving it too much cred. Parts of it are straight up dallas bizz. The thick of it is more credible.
Having said that I'm in the middle of it and haven't seen the way it ends.
But seriously the wife side story- it's unbelievably stupid at times.

Sorry. I sound like a dick. Didn't want to shit on it, but expected so much more from the way people where talking about it.

Kevin Spacey is amazing, good plot/pacing, likeable characters with depth, and a wicked dark streak of humour running through it.
