When it comes to playing and organising music, iTunes is still a very good player. And for organising music on your iPod/iPad/iPhone it still is a good program. It's just an hassle when you need to copy something over really quick.

Apple is still trying, the only difference is that in the current times it has been cooler than ever to hate Apple.

Currently there isn't a jailbreak for iOS 7, but from what I've heard and read they're supposed to be close to a breakthrough. They've been close to a breakthrough for weeks now though..

Tbh I dont think the Apple hate would be as bad had they not bombarded us with those mac vs pc commercials for years. They created their own hate!

True. Still though, as much as I don't like all the Apple fanboys, all the self-proclaimed anti-Apple crusaders are even worse. Don't they realize they're as annoying as the fanboys? It's basicly a whole "my asshole company that uses vague marketing terminology is better than your asshole company that uses other vague marketing terminology" debate that goes nowhere really.

I have a macbook, don't regret buying it since I got it for good reasons, but the first few months I had it I had to constantly deal with people going "omg you bought a macbook?? it's expensive windows is better lolol buy acer is cheaper blabla thinkpad gannoo/linux". Holy fuck that was annoying.

Unless Im missing something, it still cant deal with flac or wav, I mean it sure as fuck looks better than nearly everyother media player going but that is really annoying.

amen

it's cool to hate apple because as a company they are shit, there are many products available that are better and cheaper than what they sell.

It can deal with WAV, but yeah not with FLAC which is a bit annoying. I just convert all my FLAC files to ALAC, which is basicly the same, except that ALAC is not FOSS and ALAC is supported by more players than FLAC.

Anyway I stopped using iTunes a few months ago and use Enqueue now to listen to music. I still manage my library with iTunes though and the program I wrote to sync music with my phone (android) still uses the iTunes library data.

Talking about asshole tech companies :x :x :x :u:
Software patent reform just died in the House, thanks to IBM and Microsoft

On Wednesday, the House Judiciary Committee is scheduled to consider legislation aimed at reining in abusive patent litigation. But one of the bill's most important provisions, designed to make it easier to nix low-quality software patents, will be left on the cutting room floor. That provision was the victim of an aggressive lobbying campaign by patent-rich software companies such as IBM and Microsoft.

Winamp is closing down. Anyone that uses it, it's not going to be available for download past December 20th if you want to download a copy.
