Post by ill mindset » Fri Nov 29, 2013 9:57 am

I'm saving for a studio desk and Black Friday has to come and try to jam me up.

Might have to jump on a 1TB portable xternal HD for $50. small & bus powered. only 5400rpm though

Somebody talk me out of it please. lol

Foolish is the man who does not have multiple backups. See it less as an expense and more as an investment.

I have one already but its not bus powered. Project files also backed up online. I could use the extra space and another system image though. Considering it still :/ thanks

Is it USB3.0? If so - jump on it.

If not, it's just old stock they're trying to shift and prices will remain around there into the new year (will probably go up before xmas but after again for Jan sales.)

Its a Toshiba USB 3.0 with 2.0 compatibility. 5/gbps. Should work like a huge flash drive. Just gottta be more gentle with it. I went ahead and ordered it this morning at 3am PST. lol

I know what you mean, 5400 isn't ideal but my internal drive is the same speed. I dont have any issues with it. I'll test it out before trusting it with anything important. worst case it becomes a backup drive.
