unorthodox production techniques

Post by Trichome » Thu Dec 05, 2013 12:01 am

thought this would be a interesting thread

ill start off with a cool one

to get some interesting vocal chants/effects, autotune pretty much any acapella and set it to remove every note apart from the key of your track.
drench it in reverb and it will likely sound like kids chanting/hippy festival music vocals.

did this in this tune, believe it or not the source is actually next hype

they come in at like 40 seconds and are playing throughout the entire second part of the tune

Whenever you make some fucked synth patch late at night and realize it sounds gash the next morning, before you delete it render an audio clip and throw it in a sound design folder. Later on when you need some texture or interesting sounds, throw that sample in a convolution reverb and run your audio through it. Alternately use a granulator to scrub over certain parts of it with harmonic content you like. Or both; use it for convolution, record the output, and then granularize that.

Nice track btw.
