“if it doesn't come bursting out of you
in spite of everything,
don't do it.
unless it comes unasked out of your
heart and your mind and your mouth
and your gut,
don't do it.”

Srsly though, i find it much easier to come up with new ideas and just letting them whirl round yr head when you ain't stuck in front of some computer. Chill out and relax, let it come to you........

weed often makes things fun, dunno if it makes my tunes better tho...

having regular breaks from the pc, even just a ciggy outside listening to your loop or whatever from a different vantage point.

collabs are good, you can start an idea, then the other half will go on a different tangent with it then the process repeats, that kills the block..

telling your girlfriend to fuck off after a barney and having an entire weekend for production - priceless, mucho tunes made

collabing is great fun, but sometimes you both dont agree on certain things. Someone should setup a collab post and post like a reason 3.0 file and get all the reason users to remix it!

Ahh mate big up the cornwall massive, one day i'll visit there for sure. It's where my family migrated from to Australia.... You could always take a leaf from their book and move somewhere where stuffs going on.

Or just get an existing friend, and upgrade him/her with knowledge on production then get on the collabos..

I see what you're saying here CRYPTIC "collabing is great fun, but sometimes you both dont agree on certain things."

but this type of discussion following a disagreement on a sound/rhythm or whatever can lead to better quality control and a better product... sometimes anyway
