9 remix would sound good on a gameboy, but not sure if i would buy it. Those synths sound like they would hurt over a big system too. Nice idea, but not really that listenable

I'm wondering if this is a KLF type scam to see what people actually will buy if it's associated with Hyperdub. Would this not be instantly dismissed if Kode 9 wasn't involved in it?

Still should go down well on the ringtone market I guess

Sorry that people don't like bad vibes and criticism on here but I agree with Shonky, I just don't get the appeal of this release and think if Kode 9 wasn't backing it other people might think the same.

i used to think this would be the case too till kode9 played it at dmz this month. so wrong i was, sounded proper crisp and wasn't jarring at all.

christ, shonky. Not everyone has to release/write/play music just for your pleasure/benefit u kno. I'm not into 8bit either but I don't feel the need to take the piss.

Taking the piss is what I do old chap, thought you might have noticed by now. Don't think I've ever asked anyone to create anything purely for my jollies and if I did, it mostly seems to have fallen on deaf ears. It's actually pretty rare that I express dislike of a tune on the forum even if I'm not feeling it, so seems a bit rich to castigate me for an opinion that you admit to holding yourself.

My opinion isn't going to affect sales of it anyway, and until this, Hyperdub and Kode 9 haven't put a foot wrong musically so I don't really see what the problem is.
Hmm....

So, is it a personal problem with 8-bit music in general or with the tune in particular? it sounded pretty crisp at DMZ and the structure of the tune is pretty much the same as the original.

I wish people wrote a little "because" after saying large or awful.

lol! that HAS to go on the press release, surely

i love the 8 bit sound, and this is probably the finest execution of it ive come across. sunset dub is sick, so much melody, and amazing textures.

and its different
