if you like offbeat/offensive comedy, check out Strangers with Candy

It has Stephen Colbert before he was famous-- he will have you rolling. The rest of the cast are great too

Some of the lines from that are off the chain, or whatever the contemporary iteration of that phrase is.

Rewatching the early series of this with the missus. Some of the special effects are dated as fuck, but the atmosphere it creates is still spot on :h:

Agree, that show was an odd one. The corniness was perfect imo, and such a hard line to follow, so easy to fall onto either side. Also can you dig me up the info about the funding for x-files, or for 1013 coming from some evil alphabet agency? Sounded legit when I read it eons ago.

I rate Justified tbh, and I might get a bit of stick for this but ER seasons 1-5/6ish. It might be more of a nostalgia thing though, i'm not sure..
Comedy wise, try The League and Black Books if you haven't already seen it.

Also, Workaholics is complete garbage. Avoid.

Surely if you like The League you like Workaholics? It's just the same dumb immature humour but with handegg references sometimes

Bro, tough one. It is good and bad. I think the writing is very good, I think the acting is just horrible. I've got a head the size of a vw bug, but I think I could have cast it better and gotten better performances.

They both have a framework of immaturity but The League is much better written and better acted. There are, imo, subtle intricacies to The League which make it far more interesting than shotgun-comedy approach of Workaholics.

Also, yes Nowaysj, it may well have been a better show with a different cast. The wee squinty-eyed tnuc annoys me the most.

It's immature and stupid, but really that's the point:
