Done some stuff along these lines too, mostly private experiments; interesting what you have to sacrifice to keep any sense of momentum going.

Slow and awkward.
sometimes I drop to 70 to not have a sample sound as awkward with time stretching and have to re position my drums. Every time I have listened to a 140 halfstep sequence at 70, its sounded terrible.
