Oi, techno people:

I decided I should try properly listening to techno as there's a decent scene for it compared to any "UK bass" stuff here in Oslo. Also the local record shop stopped importing that stuff it seems, maybe cos I stopped buying after it was all Tempa or Hyperdub coming in. Anyway's here's the month's techno releases in the shop. Just check out the Basic Channel and Maurizio labels, then be disillusioned that no techno will ever sound as good as what you just heard.

Basic Channel? That reminds me I actually have the 12" of Quadrant Dub from an impulse buy a year back in germany...copped it only cuz I knew the name Basic Channel. It was a cool place too. No counter or nothing, just this middle aged german dude and a room of records.

I also got the BCD compilation from the library, not that fussed about it TBH, it's a bit on the ultra-minimal side innit?

Not exactly something that comes to mind when someone asks for techno though.
Still, endless amount of great records from those guys.

Maybe check out some mixes by Rrose, Lucy, Phase, Darko Esser as well.

Oh yeah, one more thing. I heard that Drake tune Pound Cake today and I swear there was some sort of (garagey perhaps?) remix of it I've heard on Dusk and Blackdown or something? Something using that vocal sample. Any help plz.
