I need to go to some techno raves too. Basically listened to about 15 techno tunes ever tops but I like the idea of raving to hard shit like that Tuesday's March tune.

Just check out the Basic Channel and Maurizio labels, then be disillusioned that no techno will ever sound as good as what you just heard.

Not exactly something that comes to mind when someone asks for techno though.

Phylyps Trak II/II is the epitome of techno!

Don't you think the epitome of techno would be something a little harder?
Looking back on the old days.. Detroit, Birmingham.

Still, nothing but good things to say about innovators like Basic Channel of course.
If I had to choose one majorly influential track from them, it would be Axis.
Otherwise something early 90s on Peacefrog, Axis, R&S or Tresor I guess.

Get what you're saying, but in my head, techno was just pissing around in Detroit and Birmingham (0121 stand up!) until Berlin got their hands on it and nailed it down.

Not a big fan of the Detroit sound tbf, got time for the Birmingham sound, some of the early Surgeon stuff is hard.
