Narrowing down to specific search results:
1. Use the 'AND' operator e.g: Excision AND bass AND tutorial
2. Use the option search for all terms underneath the keyword box (which to my understanding is pretty much the same as the AND operator
3. If your search query has mutiple names or similar related terms, you can use the 'OR' operator to search for all these terms at the same time e.g: EQ OR filter
Using Dubstepforum.coms Search feature:
The next thing you want to do is narrow it down to just the production subforum so you don't get a bunch unrelated hits on the other various subforums via the forum dropdown selection.
Now to have some fun, if there is a specific poster you know of that you can relate to or know shares info in a way that you can relate to try using their username in the author field to see if they commented on or started a topic on your query.
Now to format the results into the format that is most conducive to finding what you want. You can have your results returned either as topic titles or posts. Topic titles is a bit self explanatory, but when doing individual posts you're going to want to change the return first value so you can get a quick preview of the first post. the amount of characters is up to you.
Under the search previous option you can set how far back you want to search, say if yoiu know someone wrote something on the topic quite recently and want to exclude older posts.
Sort by well that can be used to well sort to your desire.
Now you have a list of results, but there's a whole lot of them. IF you are using the show results by post option crack open your browsers find option and you can type in your term/terms to browse a bit faster and hopefully get to the info you want. Also you can do the same by topic and then when the whole thread is opened, do the same.
Now using google to search the site
the operator for this would be:
"your search query" site:dubstepforum.com to search the whole forum
to search just the production subforum you would use it's url:
"your search query" site:http://dubstepforum.com/viewforum.php?f=8
if you want to delve even deeper look into googles specific operators and query options (I would but that would be a whole lot to cover)
NOW search or stfu noobs and obey the moose
